Fishumentaryâ„¢

I was rooting through my backup hard drive today and found this photo of one of my first planted tanks taken 2/1/2005. This was back when tank maintenance involved little more than a bi-weekly water change and feeding the fish. No CO2, no supplements, etc. In fact, I don’t even remember having to trim anything but the Wisteria (Hygrophila difformis). I also remember that almost every plant in that photo eventually succumbed to a huge algae outbreak; so it was not without its problems.

Ah to only have one tank to deal with. Things certainly have changed; or spiraled out of control depending on how you look at it. I’m in the process of setting up 4 more tanks this week which should bring me up to around 25. At least I can never say I have nothing to do!

I’ve been absent for a while for a variety of reasons, nice weather, more tanks, etc. Most recently it has been because I’m in the process of moving to a new hosting provider. Hopefully things will go smoothly but there may be some downtime over the next few days.
